A renovation of a 1920’s Carpenter house in town. Main goals were to reduce number of hardscape materials - a process of subtraction. Took out some brick, took out a hulking chimney, and provided views to the surrounding valley. With planting, we decided to keep a lot of the foliage to maintain privacy, but inserted lots of new perennials to create a billowing soft edge between the pool patio paving and the border.
